It's time for all things cinnamon and pumpkin! Did you know that these scents can also put your dog in the fall mood? There are homemade recipes for pumpkin dog treats that are basically like Halloween treats, but for puppies.
With the pumpkin and spiced milk craze going on this fall, it makes sense that you'd want to spread the joy of the season with your dog. And we have a delicious recipe that you can make at home.
To make about 10 of these Crispy Baked Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits, you'll need:- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup regular canned pumpkin puree ( without pumpkin pie filling)
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened peanut butter (or use 1/2 cup banana if allergic to peanut butter)
- Half a teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon water (more if needed)
Turn the mixture onto a clean and floured work surface and knead with your hands until a dough forms. You can add a teaspoon of water at a time to make the dough more elastic, but don't add too much. You want the dough to be fairly dry and stiff.
With the help of a rolling pin, roll out the dough to a thickness of about half a centimeter. Using a knife or cookie cutter of your choice, cut into 1-inch slices and place on a baking sheet.
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for about 30-40 minutes or until golden brown. Allow your chickpeas to cool to room temperature before serving them.
Then have fun!
If you're not talented in the kitchen, there are several pumpkin treats for dogs that you can buy at your favorite pet store. These are some of the tastiest pumpkin dishes we can find.
