Downtothewire Gardening Gifts

December 22 - MAIS MEER - That's right. Christmas is here and there is no time for lollipops. Now is the time to put something on the gardener's Christmas list.

OK, but what? Central Washington is not Australia; Now it's cold There aren't many gardening options at the moment. Ah, but luckily gardening is one of those activities that requires a lot of accessories, materials and tools.

Lisa Villegas, owner of Seed Cupboard Nursery in Royal City, provided a long list of options. Gardening tools, gardening gloves, seeds, watering cans, fertilizers, sun hats, knee pads - the list is almost endless.

"Such a great opportunity," Villegas said.

According to her, a popular way to use this award is with a garden gift basket, but instead of an actual basket, a fresh vase is used.

Sprinklers are an example of the options available. Plastic, galvanized steel or copper? A liter or two? Try to create a real traditional image or one that looks like a coffee shop? A strange, unusual pen? Press? pink? Blue?

Do you have small spaces? Handheld devices can be individually or in groups. Today you can buy a garden tool storage bench. Maybe more specialized tools, this thing that looks like a spider with arthritis (it's actually a garden claw).

There are special belts for gardening tools and, of course, gardening gloves. Gloves come in different types of plastic, leather, faux leather, spandex, and blends of different materials. For those who really want to dig in, there are claw-tipped gloves.

All these devices are easier to carry in a garden container. Some of them are now on wheels, like a suitcase. The classic clutch still has its fans. Others may be attached to the container.

Big, heavy cast irons are, well, big, heavy, and hard to move. Garden inventors thought about this and designed toys on wheels so they could be moved.

Plants and casts open up many possibilities. There are hanging, wall, floor, cabinet, tubs on wheels available. The same goes for portable beds, bins and watering systems. Cast irons are available in the classic terracotta color and in any other color imaginable; They are round, square, rectangular, plastic, unwatered clay, glass clay, concrete, wood.

Most gardeners don't mind some form of decoration, such as a sculpture, trellis, fountain or bird bath, grill or bench.

And if there's too much to choose from, a gift card will let the gardener make their choice. And yes, many local daycares are closed for the winter, but Seed Box, Blue Rouge Garden and Daycare in Moses Lake, and Emerald Desert Daycare in Quincy have the option to purchase a gift card online.
