So when a brand publishes trend reports, it's fair to say that this information is a good indicator of what people are generally searching for, what trends are hot, and what looks are about to disappear.
Here's what Etsy's latest trends report shows and what it means for interior design trends in 2024.

Berry tones are great.
Etsy's Color of the Year for 2024 is Berry, which the report describes as "a color that combines deep red and blue." From berry coffee mugs to artwork, it's the perfect shade for anyone looking to add a little color to any room.
Elegant and romantic, this modern berry shade is essentially an evolved version of the Barbiecore aesthetic that was so popular earlier this year.
When it comes to the aesthetics of the Barbicore, it's safe to say that this look is pretty accomplished. Searches for pink décor items on the platform dropped a staggering 58%. That doesn't mean that interest in rosé has waned, just that tastes are moving toward more mature nuances.
Denim makes its way into the home
What if your home was as beautiful as your favorite pair of jeans? There is a good chance this will happen in 2024. The report states that denim is becoming more decorative. There are currently over 16,000 listings for denim home accessories on Etsy. This includes denim upholstery, wall art, and even rugs made from recycled materials.
Think American, but make it elegant – this trend is destined to become a classic. A good example is the denim cushion, which is versatile enough to adorn any neutral sofa. You can also create your own version by renewing old jeans.
The gallery walls will soon disappear
You probably didn't expect it, since gallery walls have been in fashion for years. And while most of us think this style would never go out of style, according to Etsy, that time is coming. According to the report, searches for objects for gallery walls fell 16 percent.
In contrast, demand for large-format framed artwork increased by 25 percent, which is very impressive. It's easy to see why: it's easier to find one work of art than eight. The best thing is that you will only have to hang one thing.
Featured bathrooms
Even though the bathroom is the smallest room in the house, Etsy buyers see a great opportunity to make it stand out. The report shows that searches for "living" bathroom art increased by 21%, while searches for vanity faucets increased by 13%. The search for original wall hooks has also more than doubled. From solid brass birds and flowers to elegant bows, Etsy has tons of great options in this category.
Another interesting fact is that searches for stone sinks increased by 16 percent and wall mirrors increased by 30 percent. This could suggest that standard medicine cabinets and porcelain sinks are going out of style in favor of spa-like features. All of these statistics show that even small changes to your bathroom, like replacing faucets or installing a dedicated towel rack, can make a big difference.
