Columbus gardeners, it's time to show your green thumb!
The Dispatch Backyard Garden Awards are in their sixth year and we are delighted to showcase the work of local gardeners.
Submit your backyard photo to dispatchshows.com/backyard-garden-awards by July 28 for a chance to win. Submissions will be judged in six categories: Best Home Garden, Best Horticultural Garden, Best Container Garden, Best Community Garden, Best Native Plant Garden and Best Sustainable Garden.
The winner of the best show in each category will receive a $500 gift card to Oakland Nurseries, sponsor of the Dispatch Backyard Garden Awards. The winners of each category will receive gift vouchers of different amounts for the horticultural company.
All winners will be announced at the free Central Ohio Fall Home Show on September 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ohio Exposition Center in the Bricker Building, 717 E. 17th Ave. announced.

Best Native Herb Garden: $300 First Place Gift Card; Second place: $100 gift card

People's Choice: $60 First Place Gift Card; Second place: $40 gift card
Best in Show: $500 gift card
Who are the judges?
A panel of volunteer gardeners from Ohio State University selects all winners except for the People's Choice category. The People's Choice poll will be open to the public August 7-21 at dispatchshows.com/backyard-garden-awards.
