Naked Gardening Is A Thing And Macon Is One Of The Best Cities For It, Study Says.

May 26 - plant a turnip in a birthday outfit. Casting stunning roses naked.

The Barefoot Garden is just a few steps away and Macon, Georgia is joining the party.

According to a recent study by Lawnstarter, Macon is ranked the 66th most horticultural city in the US.

In fact, Georgia tops the list, with Atlanta ranked as the third best city for nudity, Augusta at 73rd, Savannah at 90th, and Columbus at 92nd.

Why is Macon a good place to park?

Well, there are several factors that Lawnstarter used to determine the ranking.

Here's how it worked out in one study:

For the first time, the study collected locations where nude gardening is safe and legal, studied nude populations, obscenity laws and gardener compliance, and lists of meteorologists and sex offenders.

These topics were then grouped into one of four categories: (1) gardener-friendly, (2) local interest, (3) weather forecast, and (4) safety.

Cities were then assigned scores in each category and ranked (from best to worst) based on the performance of other cities.

Macon ranked 66th out of 200 cities.

Here is the breakdown by points:

Total points: 49.89

- Naked Gardener's Kindness: 43

Local Rarity: 191

Weather: 73

Security: 174

Still wondering why gardening has become more popular?

The expert thinks:

"It takes time to change the perception of beauty. So I don't think one act of public nudity will make a difference, but several - combined with positive messages about the benefits of public nudity - definitely can," says Tessa West. , assistant professor of psychology at New York University.

“Modeling is important. When people see different body types and people who feel really comfortable in their own skin, it can make them realize, "Hey, I look good naked too."

West also shares some of the benefits of gardening:

“In terms of benefits, I would say that you get more vitamin D, you learn to feel comfortable in your own skin, you learn new physical sensations,” West said.

West also points out some things to watch out for: "Risks include sunburn, accidental injury if you're not careful (tip: don't sit on the ground!), and insect bites in unwanted places."

Are you planning to try? Here are some tips for beginner gardeners:

1. Wear sunscreen - everywhere! Keep in mind that some of these body parts have never seen the sun and are therefore very vulnerable. This applies to all skin colors and genders.

2. Do not use chemicals (such as herbicides) that can get on your body. If you need gloves to work with garden chemicals, this may not be the best time to take your clothes off.

3. Bring a towel or blanket. It's okay to sit on top of a field and pick beans, but most of us sit down naturally when our legs get tired—it's an automatic behavior we don't think about. Think ahead and do something nice for your ass.

I wonder who made it to the top ten?
