Leu Gardens Plant Sale Returns With Free Admission This Weekend

Already a botanical oasis teeming with vegetation, Leu Gardens will come alive this weekend with the return of the annual tradition of green fingers.

The Leu Gardens Plant Sale will descend on 50 acres of urban greenery March 11-12, with more than 50 vendors displaying an abundance of greenery to grace your living room, patio or deck. Guests can find everything from bonsai trees to bromeliads and bamboo. Discover a variety of fruit trees, succulents, roses, orchids, Florida natives and more.

While plants are the focus of the two-day event, shoppers can also browse ceramics, garden sculptures, bird feeders, metal art, watering systems and food vendors, along with ice cream, coffee and light bites.

Since the late 1990s, the weekend sale has attracted more than 15,000 attendees and began as a way to connect plant enthusiasts directly with growers who could provide expert advice. Dealers are primarily located in Florida, but some travel as far as Georgia and Indiana.

Plant buyers are encouraged to bring a plant wagon or cart to the store, but pets must be kept indoors. Most vendors accept credit cards. it is recommended to bring cash.

Leu Gardens members will have access to the sale at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, giving them first-hand access to rare plants and special items.

For non-members, the plant sale is a great time to visit Leu Gardens without paying admission, enjoy the comfort of a stroll through the tropical tea garden or rose garden, or look for gardening ideas to take home.
