Dog named Ollie melted after a video of him "trying on" the mat of his future little sister's newborn baby went viral on social media.
In a video posted to TikTok by the owner of a pregnant dog named Alliewears on Saturday, Pete the bull can be seen rolling around on a new baby rug.
The touching video is accompanied by the following captions: “Unpacked the nursery rug” and “PT approved.”
According to some of his wife's previous posts, a special bond developed between Ollie and their son when they found out she was pregnant. In fact, he was the first to know about it even before the baby's father.
Ollie's owner, Ali, told Newsweek : "We rescued our pit bull Oliver from the Wake County Animal Shelter in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2018 and he has become the best member of our family. He brought so much joy into our lives. we are inseparable." "He's a real sissy."
“We just had our first child and to prepare her for this new chapter, Ollie slowly introduced me to all things baby related. She loves to sleep in her room, and when I took off her new rug, I could tell she loved it as much as I did." .
According to the American Kennel Club, dogs have the ability to sense changes in the human body, developing the ability to detect diseases such as cancer and diabetes, and possibly detect pregnancy.
The AKC website states: “During pregnancy, your hormones change and are released in different patterns and in different amounts, and your dog will definitely notice these changes.
“It can hardly be related to the mind, and I will probably still be curious about your bundle of joy when I get home.”
The video quickly went viral on social media, attracting animal lovers to the platform, with over 622,000 views and 67,000 likes.
One viewer, Ellie Van Cleve, said: "I love that you added real colors to your nursery, not just neutral ones!"
And hi! “My condolences to my sons. They didn't leave the room, and now they won't leave his side. What special love!

Ash joked, "That's a great nursery for you, PT."
Newsweek has reached out to Alliewears for comment. We were unable to confirm the details of the case.
