King Charles is working on the gardens of his beloved royal residence.
The 74-year-old British monarch will return to Sandringham Home in Norfolk this spring.
Work has begun on the iconic West Lawn Park, which has been damaged by weather and climate change. In its place there will be a walled garden with 5,139 trees, alongside more than 4,280 perennial grasses and more than 4,280 flowering perennials such as gabriel oak and skylark of the newly planted yellow and pink cultivars.

King Charles, whose garden had been carefully planned and cultivated at another country house, Highgrove House, may have hoped to revisit it from his childhood. Raja remembered how he loved such gardens since childhood. "There is the most beautiful topiary garden laid out by Queen Alexandra, my great-grandmother," she said in 2019, according to The Times .
"I still remember being taken as a kid, even in my car, and it was very special, the animal shapes cut out, the peacocks, the birds, I'll never forget it. I would say it had a big impact on me. "

"The garden will feature new plants and flowers, a new maze of pathways and transformations, and hill straightening," the Sandringham Estate said in a statement.
With climate change and increased rainfall, property managers have seen the prairie suffer in recent years. The new park will feature new species that are "stronger, longer-lived, and better able to withstand the effects of weather patterns," the ranch added.
The work is expected to be completed in May.

Charles inherited the house from Queen Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022. The gardens surrounding Sandringham House are open to visitors this week during the English school holidays and will reopen on select weekends in February and March. The main house and gardens are open during high season from April 8th to October 12th. closed on Friday.
