This couple, who designs for TLC's Nate and Jeremiah, are known for their clean, versatile styles that will stand the test of time, but what about the holidays?
If you've ever read about Christmas tree decorating mistakes, you know that small design decisions, like the wrong lighting or oversized ornaments, can make or break a space during the most social time of year. So even if Christmas decorations are only available for a few weeks a year, getting them right is essential.
The correct process, according to Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent, starts with how to avoid maintenance errors.
“I really love Christmas and indulging in everything. My husband, on the other hand, is counting down the days until all the jewelery is removed," Jeremiah began an exclusive interview with H&G .
"People often feel compelled to use everything they've accumulated over the years and keep every item in one place," he says.
“I would encourage you to do something a little more unexpected and redecorate every year. The good news is brands are now making extravagant parties, so there's no need to sacrifice style or lack of creativity."
Traditionally, Christmas decorating ideas encourage adding colors you might otherwise avoid in your home, so it's easy to see why you'd make reservations, as with Nate. Seasons allow you to make your space a little more eclectic, so your home will naturally look different. But being different is not necessarily a bad thing.
