A few weeks ago I shared Oogie Boogie DIY ornaments, but we all know that zero is the best part of a nightmare before Christmas! It's also cute as a sentimental decoration, and so easy to make!
If you want to make some DIY Halloween decorations - or add some DIY Christmas decorations to your holiday decorations - these DIY no-frills decorations are perfect! Making it isn't too hard and I've even included no-sew instructions in case you don't sew or your kid wants to do it with you!
How do you use this DIY zero dog ornament?
Like any ornament, you can hang it on a Christmas tree {or a Halloween tree if you have one!}. But you can hang it on a wreath or leave it on a ribbon and use it as a great toy for children {note that it is a choking hazard for children under 3 years old}.
Do you need sewing to make this craft?
Number! If it's easier for you, you can use hot glue to glue the pieces together instead of sewing. This is a great way to make it easier for the kids too, be sure to help them with hot glue as they get older!

DIY fantasy before Christmas early decoration
This Nightmare Before Christmas decoration from Zero Ghost Dog is easy and adorable! Made of felt and with a free print, this ornament can be used for a wreath, Christmas tree, or anything else you like and does not include sewing instructions!
Material:
- Kraft felt, white
- Bead or button, black
- Small pom poms, orange
- Thin white and red neckband for hanging
- Embroidery thread, black and white
- Fill polyfill
- embroidery needle
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
instructions
the organizer
1. Print the scratch cut on heavy cardboard.
2. Cut each piece. Use this as a template and trace and cut the appropriate pieces of fabric as shown.
Front thread
1. Using black thread, sew the mouth and attach the eyes to the body.
Make body
1. Use quilting stitch and start working the two body parts together. I suggest going from the armpits of the front legs to the tail, through the belly.
2. Before stuffing the tail and belly, work around the tail and over the neck.
3. Continue sewing from the top of the head.
4. Fold the hanging tape in half, tuck the raw edge into the top of the pillow and continue sewing. Stop often and do something.
5. Finish by returning to where you started.
Add finishing touches
Glue the ears and pompoms. Tie a thin red ribbon around your neck.
Notes
For young crafters, you can make this no-sew project easy by using glue instead of stitches. Use permanent marker or cloth paint for the mouth and eyes.
Points used
Back stitch (for mouth)
Quilt stitch (used to join two pieces around the outer edge)
