Want Some New Plants For A Garden? Come To The Plant Exchange Sept. 17

Plant Exchange

For more than 34 years, the Hudson Garden Club has welcomed the community to share in the tradition of plant sharing. Thousands of plants have found new homes, many of which have become common again over the years, and the cycle continues.

The Fall Plant Swap will be held on Saturday, September 17th at the Veterans Road Park Pavilion at 55 Veterans Road, registration will begin at 9:00 a.m., and the swap will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Since its founding in 1933, the Hudson Garden Club has been known for its long-standing traditions, and the Biennial Plant Swap is one of them. The tradition continued in the late 1980s when club member Sue L'Hamedi thought it would be fun for members to dig up plants from their gardens, collect them all and share them with other plant lovers. Until today. was born today. The club no longer uses the short cut, and the May Pavilion at Hudson Springs Park has hosted the May and September exchanges for more than 25 years.

In recent years, the factory exchanges were moved to the pavilion on Veterans Road, and a parking lot was placed next to it. Organizers say that each season, “we welcome those who make this a tradition and want to add new plants to their gardens. Gardens. We hope you will come and join us."

This club is not a fundraiser. Club members describe it as "a real exchange of plants from home gardens". This is also an opportunity to visit the park. The Hudson Garden Club donates a portion of the money to trees and other projects in parks and throughout the city through its main fundraiser, the Home and Garden Tour.
