On Friday, the fall Home & Garden Show hosted by Aiken Standard drew crowds at the H. Odell Weekly Activity Center.
This annual event, which continues on Saturday, features a variety of vendors, many of whom provide visitors with information on the various projects they can take on indoors and outdoors.
The only place in the house that could need an update is the bathroom, and Bath Fitter's Bruni Adams was always there to answer any questions from visitors.
“We have a lot of clients who need our services,” Adams said. “We can remove bathtubs and install walk-in showers that are easy to access, so we want to make it easy for the client.”
In addition to home projects, participants were able to learn more about gardening. This is the goal of the Aiken Master Horticultural Association.
“We went out to talk to people and help them with their landscaping, plants and gardens and tried to help them,” said Sharon Tesch of the local organization.
In addition to home project tips, attendees were able to browse a variety of vendors offering home decor or other home essentials. One of them was the Cutco Cutlery, which, according to Matt Tuschen, has appeared at the show before. They come to the salon because they meet not only new clients, but also old ones. Although this is a cutlery store, they don't only sell knives.
“It's not just knives, it's our main product, we also make pots, we have spoons and forks, cutlery, accessories, we also have a whole collection for outdoor activities, and one of the new aspects of our business is giving to companies, who want to get an idea about our product, we will help them with this,” says Tuschen.
Virginia Landry, who came to the show for the first time, said she enjoyed looking through the different vendors.
Sarah Harvey also wanted to see different vendors.
"I just wanted to see everything in my house and have some fun," Harvey said. "I love these little pine angels (from Mary Ellen's Art & Wreaths), they are so cute and I think they would make a great addition to any Christmas tree."
The Fall Home & Garden Show continues today from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
