Free Toilets And Tips For Gardening With Natives On Tap For Homeowners At These Sonoma County Events

If you need new toilets, Santa Rosa Water will provide them free of charge.

Eligible customers can have two water-saving toilets, shower heads, and kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators installed by qualified plumbers. Efforts to reduce water consumption are supported by the state in agreement with the Ministry of Water Resources.

To be eligible, residents must be Santa Rosa Water customers and the replacement toilet must have a flush volume of at least 1.6 gallons per flush. Single family, multi-family, commercial, industrial and institutional clients are eligible.

Each client must sign an Acceptance Certificate confirming that the work was performed by a qualified Santa Rosa Water plumber in accordance with the contract.

Along with new 0.8-gallon toilets, the package will include new shower heads and aerators for kitchen and bathroom faucets.

Sonoma County Master Gardeners will host a webinar on Wednesday in the language of the earth and share ideas for using native plants in the garden. The inhabitants are good at efficient use of water and attract wildlife.

Webinar host Bill Closing will be using his local wildlife-friendly garden to showcase the many opportunities available to gardeners in North Bay. 19:00-20:30 Free class but registration required at sonomamg.ucanr.edu. Lovely little weekend at the bonsai show

Redwood Empire Bonsai Society Discover the beauty and mystery of Japanese bonsai art this weekend at the annual Bonsai Show.

Every day at 13:00, renowned bonsai artist and teacher Ryan Neal of Mirai Bonsai and Mirai Life will be presenting this traditional Japanese art. The fair will also feature bonsai exhibits and bonsai-related materials, which can be purchased from vendors and group members. Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00 and Sunday from 10:00 to 16:00.
