Launched on June 20, the dual collection captures the tangible transformation of sand and fire into one-of-a-kind glass art objects. The art collection will be launched as part of Saint Heron's commercial project Small Matter, dedicated to demonstrating the power of sculpture and architecture at the intersection of contemporary art and design. The Art Glass Collection includes five pieces hand-blown by MacDonald in his Philadelphia studio. The Small Matter artworks will be presented in 198 pieces and each unique functional sculpture will reflect Saint Heron's design language and spirit of purpose for the foundation.

On June 14, 2023, Knowles and St. Heron hosted a party in New York City to celebrate the launch of the glassware collection for tastemakers and influencers, as well as a Luther Vandross-inspired installation titled "Home Not at Home." She captioned her Instagram post: “Celebrating the launch of Small Material Art Objects: Glassware 001, Saint Heron's A House Is Not A House (2033), an installation that connects the atmosphere of the Black family and the design process and Luther's deliberate meeting. By commissioning works from emerging artists, Saint Heron Small Matter encourages artists to reflect intimate creative processes through the origins of their disciplines.

Saint Heron's small glass collections hope to inspire the community and increase interest in the vibrant contributions of Blackness to art, decoration and architectural glassmaking.

"It was so much fun working with Saint Heron to create this line. It was great to work closely with another inspiring artist and share a passion for the project," says Jason McDonald.

He continued, "What I want is that this is a frozen moment in time. This is an accurate picture of where you are on any given day. You can't hide in the glass because it freezes all the steps you've taken to get results. So I say it's a dance between me and the glass. I think it's really inspiring to know that they're going to live in people's homes and become beloved things that they use every day."

The limited edition Small Matter Art by Saint Heron will be available from 20 June 2023, followed by the Small Matter Form glass collection. The dual line of glassware will be available exclusively at Saintheron.com.
