vegetables on the table

It's just a way of life from garden to table; Healthy lifestyle, cooking from home plants or products from the farmer's market .

Get closer to everyday food by creating kitchen gardens, herb gardens, or growing your own fruit.

In recent years, I have even tried to create a fun garden using indoor hydroponics.

So don't think that gardening is only for a large garden or terrace!

Do you have little space for a garden?

Being a city girl, I wanted to decorate my city apartment with the natural creations that I love in the countryside .

Let me show you how I created a beautiful garden that is not based on "growing season"; Just a sunny window and my sink.

  • Under the wide window on the south side, a plastic film was laid on the parquet.
  • Buy some bricks and place them on top of the plastic, placing the bricks on the sides to create a complete border.
  • I brought containers of different sizes and started growing a variety of edible plants and flowers in my city apartment.

Finding fresh produce makes planting a fun activity for home growing.

Over the years, I have developed my own culinary style, drawing on my Mediterranean heritage and the produce available at the farmer's market.

Then one day I found myself living in the countryside with a patio and large terrace to grow food at home.

At first I tried a few pots of tomatoes and cucumbers on the deck, but these areas were just waiting to be noticed.

And so, I went for it!

Delicious food in the garden.

After learning that deer and other critters do not eat strong-smelling plants with delicate leaves or edible flowers, I have had success with various plants.

I love lavender in vegetable mixes, cookies, popsicles, so I planted a lot in the garden.

From there, I expanded into the production of other plants that are easy to grow or grow every year.

What delicious garden grows for good food?

Be sure to try growing whatever you like to eat or cook!

If you like fried green tomatoes, grow them.

I prefer to use red, sun-ripened tomatoes in cooking. Grow both!

It can be green beans, peas , sweet potatoes , or any other potato you like to grow.

I have found that potatoes grow like crazy in pots at least 20 inches deep.

The list can be as simple or as long as you want, but some forms of gardening have been scientifically proven to be therapeutic for us busy people!

Cooking at home is fun and very satisfying.

Okra

Okra is often found in Mediterranean cuisine, although I have never seen it grow in any of the houses I visited as a child.

So I decided to take it.

In fact, when I drove past a local farm, I saw a large field of beautiful tropical flowers.

I dug, examined and hid tons of okra under the flowers! I have tried growing them and they have been so successful that I now grow them every year.

The advice I have learned the hard way is to harvest okra within a few days of flowering or the tree will be inedible.

pumpkin

Oh how I can't wait to try out my "beginner gardening skills" with pumpkins.

I had no idea that they would take a whole garden, produce a few pumpkins, and still not very good ones.

But the pumpkin flowers were amazing.

Now I visit local farmers' markets when they pick pumpkins from giant fields!

Indoor microgreens in small pots

Did you know that if many plants are planted in small pots and immersed in water, they will grow to enjoy the same plants they grew from?

Microgreens are a fun, easy, and reliable way to become a homemade vegetable lover.

Seeds specifically designed for growing dwarf plants can be planted in beautiful indoor pots and will be ready to eat within 10 days.

I buy most of my microgreen seeds from Amazon.
