Cathy's Home & Garden Show is the perfect event for anyone looking to build their dream home, update their outdoor living space, or get inspired for their next home improvement project.

The annual show is West Houston's largest home and garden show with over 200 booths. This year's event will take place March 25-26 at the Katy ISD Ag Center, 5801 Katy Hockley Cut Road, Katy.

Company president Robin Cade said the show was created by RJC Productions to give Katy and West Houston residents a great show without having to drive into town.

"We've all heard horror stories about paying a contractor and going out of town and not getting the job done," Kidd said. "I think it's very important to meet the providers who come to your house and get to know them before you invite them to your house. You can see the work they've done."

This opportunity gives buyers the ability to buy from certified contractors who can cover all aspects of the home. Kidd said she holds her suppliers to strict standards in how they conduct business.

"We want to make sure they're really reliable suppliers, and a lot of them have been with us for a long time," Kidd said.

Customers can keep up with the latest home trends, including the benefits of expansive steel buildings that don't require the timber framing required in a traditional home. Visitors to the show can learn about the building process, meet builders and designers, explore financing options, and see the products used in Pardominium construction.

"I've worked with Stacey Lane, the number one bardominium designer in the United States, and Josh Powell, one of the top bardominium builders," Kidd said. The barandu exhibition area has a lot to see, some ideas.

Plus, the RV Zone is a new attraction that offers something for everyone, both first-timers and experienced RVers. Guests will find ideas and inspiration by visiting the mobile homes and caravans on display.

"The other thing that's always been around is RVs, but since the pandemic more and more people are buying RVs and choosing to go that route instead of staying in hotels. From 2020 to 2020, we we're seeing a huge increase in RV sales," Kidd said. 2022. "We have an RV area at the event with lots of different RVs for people to come out and look at. I would say if you want stuff for your home or 'home away from home' , come get it. Check it out."

In addition to popular new attractions, Kidd said this year's show will feature top local home improvement companies, including 42 new companies that have never attended the show before.

"Most of the business is from the Katy and Houston areas. We have a lot of plans for this year," she said.

This year, more than 20 students aged 6 to 17 from the Katy area will have the opportunity to showcase their business skills by selling unique items at the Young Entrepreneur Market. Students learn to think like entrepreneurs and learn everything from production costs to the profitability of their products, including bookmarks, bird feeders, soap, jewelry, succulents, toys, puzzles, clothes, cotton candy and lemonade.

"Love that you have a whole new group of entrepreneurs to support," Kidd said.
